New Mirror and Lamp
This delightful arrangement makes me HAPPY! I love the new lamp and mirror. It's hard to tell from the picture but the mirror frame is a turquoise green metal (much the same color as the D) that has flowers interspersed. I got the mirror and the lamp for $60. They were both 1/2 price at Hobby Lobby.

Additional Touches
Here are a few other touches that I have added to the room. I am not done but it is really coming along.
Mantel Added To Room
Found this delightful addition to my room on Craigslist. Had to drive all the way to Lakewood but it was worth it. Owner was asking $150 but I got it for $75. Decided to leave the mantel its original color which was a taupe color. Brought it home, sanded it some and attached it to the wall. Here are the pictures.

Wall is painted!
I have painted the horrible pink wall! I have also dressed the room with what I have so far. The room is by no means complete but I am loving what I have so far. I plan to add a chandelier, chair, a few things on the wall, pillows for the bed and I want to get a mantel to put where the dresser is right now. I am also going to add window treatments.
Wooden Shutter
This was a $15 find. I just cleaned it up and sanded it a little. I used some vintage lace to hang old postcards. I will hang this on the wall soon.
Reclaimed Window
I am going to use this window to display old black and white photos of my family. This was a $10 find.

Picture Frame Project - DONE
This whole project cost about $5.00. I got the frame for .75 from Twice as Nice, the flower was an ornament that I bought after Christmas for .90, the lace was from Scrap and cost .50, and the postcard was a $2.00 find from the Mini Mall in Denton. I am really happy with the final project.
SCRAP FInds
There is a store right off the square in Denton that I am in LOVE with. It is called SCRAP and has all kinds of donated items for crafting. The prices are really low and the selection is vast. Here is a picture of everything that I got for $30. It was a little more expensive because I bought 10 yards of vintage lace trim that was $1 a yard.
Just looking at all the colors and coordination in this picture makes me HAPPY!

New Bench
I found this bench at the Mini Mall on the Denton square. I am going to refinish it and place it at the end of the bed. I am not sure yet what color I am going to use. I found this great blue today that I might use. The bench was only $25.
Thirft Store Finds
Today I spent some time at Twice as Nice, a thrift store in Denton. I got a scarf (because I loved the color), a lamp that I am going to refinish and a picture frame that I have already started working on. All of these items were $2.78. WOW, what finds!
My Inspiration
It's official, I am addicted to Pinterest! I'm not kidding...I have spent countless hours looking at and repining things that make me happy. Below, I am going to add the picture that is my inspiration for my Shabby Chic Retreat.
I love everything about this picture!

Finished Repurposed Mirror
I finished repurposing the full-length mirror. I think that I am going to add some white hooks and hang jewelry, scarves and whatnot. I am really happy with how this project turned out.

Repurposed full-length mirror
There was a full-length mirror in the room that I'm redoing but the mirror was broken. It was cute, with a medium brown finish. Instead of replacing the mirror, I decided to repurpose the whole thing.
I started by spray painting the wood white. I covered the back of the frame with a really cute, shabby chic, floral fabric. I plan to use this piece as a place to pin my favorite things.
Here are a before and during pictures of this project.

Before Pictures
I will be blogging all through the process of turning our extra bedroom into a shabby chic retreat for myself. Living with three males demands the creation of a space just for me. Here are the before pictures of the how the room looks today before I start the changes.
